| | How do I finance my custom home? | Generally, owners first obtain a letter of commitment from the lending institution that will be providing construction financing and permanent financing. The construction loan is paid out during the construction process based on progress payment requests by the builders and inspections by the lender.

| | How I can I be sure the contractor won't just take my money? | The best protection that you have is to deal with an established builder with a solid reputation. You can check with the Contractor's Licensing Board for any prior complaints and be sure to check with trade references and prior clients of the builder. Also, each project that we built is bonded, which assures you, the owner that all material suppliers and subcontractors are paid.

| | What are the steps needed to build a custom home? | With some variations depending on jobsite and weather conditions, the following is list of the basic order of construction:
- Basement dug (if applicable)
- Footings poured
- Basement constructed (if applicable)
- Backfill foundation
- Rough carpentry construction of home
- Utility install (gas, electric, water/sewer laterals, septic or well)
- Roofing/shingle install
- Mechanical rough-in completed (heating, plumbing and electrical)
- Foundation and garage slabs poured
- Siding installed
- Insulation installed
- Drywall installed
- Millwork delivered and painting and staining conducted
- Finish carpentry crew installs wood flooring, cabinets and all finish millwork
- Underlayment installed at vinyl and ceramic tile areas
- Countertop installed
- Vinyl and ceramic tile installed
- Built in appliances delivered and installed
- Light fixtures delivered and installed
- Finish heating/cooling, plumbing and electrical completed
- Flooring installed
- Appliances that are not built-in are delivered and installed
- Finishing touches completed
- Occupancy scheduled
